About This Role
The Ram Group, Inc. is hiring a part-time Technical Sales Engineer to help grow our wood scrap machinery and integrated material handling business. You will blend technical knowledge with consultative selling, working with woodworking and industrial customers to define problems, shape solutions, and guide projects from initial conversation through proposal. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both the commercial and technical sides of industrial equipment and wants the flexibility of a remote, part-time position.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in B2B technical sales, application sales, or sales engineering for industrial equipment or systems
- Solid understanding of how industrial machinery, material handling, or process systems are specified and sold
- Comfortable discussing technical concepts with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Experience managing a sales pipeline, using CRM tools, and forecasting opportunities
- Willingness to travel occasionally for key customer visits, trade shows, or site assessments
- Self-motivated and disciplined in a remote work environment
- Familiarity with woodworking, dust collection, or similar industries is a plus
Your Responsibilities
- Identify and qualify new opportunities with woodworking and related industrial customers
- Conduct discovery calls and gather technical and commercial requirements for potential projects
- Collaborate with applications engineering to develop system concepts and proposals
- Present solutions, proposals, and trade-offs to customers in a clear, consultative manner
- Manage opportunities through the sales cycle, from initial contact to signed agreement
- Maintain accurate records of activities, opportunities, and forecasts in a CRM or tracking system
- Represent The Ram Group, Inc. at select industry events, trade shows, or site visits as needed
- Gather market feedback and help refine go-to-market approaches, messaging, and solution packaging
